About ANSA

Formed in May 2003, the Australian National Skateboard Alliance (ANSA) held in its inaugural meeting on the 21st of June 2003 where the following objectives were identified to foster the development of skateboarding in Australia:

  • To create a representative and sustainable infrastructure
  • Provide representative pathways for athletes
  • Provide direction and cohesion to a fragmented industry by positioning the National Sporting Organisation recognized by the Australian
  • Sports Commission as the focal point.
  • To develop an effective communication strategy for transparency.
  • To plan realistic development timelines.

National Committee Members

National committee members are selected for their ability to meet the following criteria;

  • Demonstrated experience in organizing or participating in a variety of skateboarding projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of competition operations across all disciplines of skateboarding
  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge of skateboarding issues at local, state and national levels
  • Hold the sport’s collective interest above personal gain
  • Are available to attend face to face meetings bi-annually
  • Are available to attend routine teleconferences (2-4 per year)
  • Have the ability to be objective and transparent by promptly declaring conflicts of interest
  • Are regularly contactable via telephone and email communications

The Australian National Skateboarders’ Alliance for the term of July 2005 to July 2008 consists of Simon Oxenham, Corbin Harris and Ti Coleing. All members are active stakeholders of the Australian skateboarding community and bring to Skateboarding Australia a wealth of experience in a variety of fields.
